Should You Buy An E9X M3?

One of the best cars for sale on the market today I believe is an E9X BMW M3. To me, this car was one of my dream cars to own when I was back in high school. The body lines were like an F16 fighter jet and that V8 was very refined, although when stock not very loud but with an Exhaust, the upgrade would bring this monster up to par with its looks. Owning a 13′ E92 M3 myself has thought me a lot about the chassis in the short time I’ve had it. To start I just want to say that my car has been in the shop getting the motor rebuilt because of valve spring #7 breaking and destroying that whole cylinder. Not the best way to start an “if you should buy or not buy” article I suppose but I want to keep this as genuine as possible. Many Common issues with the e9x chassis are the Rod bearings, From what I’ve Experienced the tolerances in the s65 are very tight causing the oil to not flow properly into the bearings themselves which in itself grenades your engine. If this has happened to you, you probably know the cost of this engine new or used is no joke. A used one will run you about $6000-$8000 and a new one is right around $20,000. That being said it is not cheap to own one of these cars. So should you still purchase one ? in my most Honest opinion I still believe this is one of the best cars you can still own regardless of the High maintenance cost, its not the fastest car BUT it definitely if one of the nimblest cars I’ve ever owned the driving dynamic of the car is enough for me to overlook the high maintenance cost and being only able to drive it 6 months out the 12 months that’s we have(I live in New York we have this thing called snow) The second you push that M button on the steering wheel the car becomes an animal, The car is gripped to the ground and nibble steering feedback feels very natural and the gearbox feels great when shifting through the gears(if you get a manual). If you can afford it GO BUY ONE you won’t regret it.
